SAP for Logistics and Supply Chain

Operations kept moving and disruption kept down across fleets, routes, warehouses and the partners in between.

Where we have done this

Our logistics work runs inside other sectors: fleets, routing, transfer stations and operational reporting for two major US waste companies; warehouse operations, EDI, procurement networks and supply chain processes for manufacturers in the United States and Europe; and store operations, e-commerce, replenishment and distribution for retailers.

What we do here

  1. We run the logistics inside SAP, whoever owns the trucks.

Fleets, routes and transfer stations for haulers; warehouses, EDI and procurement networks for manufacturers; stores, web shops and replenishment for retailers. The modules and interfaces are the same, and so is the month-end that waits on them.

  2. We keep the fleet straight in the books.

Trucks, trailers and containers as assets, maintenance orders in Plant Maintenance rather than a notebook, and cost per vehicle that finance and operations both believe.

  3. We connect dispatch and warehouse systems to the ledger.

Route and dispatch platforms, warehouse systems and Extended Warehouse Management, point-of-sale and e-commerce integrated with SAP and monitored by us, so a delivery, a goods receipt and an invoice tell the same story.

  4. We make EDI boring.

IDoc and EDI traffic with customers, suppliers and carriers monitored continuously; failed messages are reprocessed by us before the customer calls about a missing order.

  5. We report movements the way operations run.

Volumes, costs and margins by region, site and route in SAP Analytics Cloud, with budget against actual, instead of depot spreadsheets collected at month-end.

  6. We upgrade without stopping the trucks.

Release upgrades and cloud moves rehearsed in a cloned sandbox and done over one weekend, with the business testing beforehand and the users back by Sunday.

The result: fewer disruptions, better operational visibility, more efficient processes, and a greater return on the SAP you already run.

Where SAP landscapes go wrong in logistics and supply chain

The same four things, at almost every landscape we take over in this sector.

  1. Interfaces between dispatch, warehouse and SAP that nobody owns end to end.
  2. The vehicle list in SAP and the vehicle list in the yard disagree.
  3. EDI failures found by the customer, not by the system.
  4. Reporting by route and site rebuilt in spreadsheets every month.

Signs you need us

If more than one of these is true, it is time to talk.

  • A carrier invoice and the goods receipt never match without a phone call.
  • Your warehouse system and SAP tell different stock stories.
  • Month-end waits for the depot spreadsheets.
  • The upgrade keeps slipping because the trucks cannot stop.

Ask SAP where the shipment and the money are

The ETZ AI Platform answers plain-language questions about deliveries, stock, postings and interfaces, with SAP-grade authorisation and an audit trail on every action.

  • Runs in your own SAP BTP subaccount. SAP data never transits ETZ.
  • Your SAP authorisations decide what it may see and do, not the AI.
  • Every action lands on an append-only audit record.
