What that looks like in practice

The certificate that took an app down

A connector certificate expired overnight and a finance application stopped working the next morning. We renewed it within the hour, then switched the connector to automatic renewal. It is one less date for anyone to remember.

The Monday production crawled

Logins hung and tiles would not open. One custom report had consumed the system’s extended memory and locked the work processes behind it. We cancelled the job, the system recovered in minutes, and the report was fixed so it could not do it again.

The table nobody looked at

A production database kept growing, and the largest table turned out to be print output from payment runs, kept far longer than anyone needed. We scheduled a cleanup that keeps the month-end output and clears the rest. The growth stopped.
